Introduction
Ola Mana Ohana is a small locally owned family business in Hawaii. It’s name means “Inner Strength of the Working Family.“
Stars Above Hawaii
Our first business under Ola Mana Ohana, LLC was started in 2007, namely Stars Above Hawaii. It had a slow start in one location, but quickly grew over the years to multiple locations and with earnings rivaling full-time employment jobs. Over time, the demand for the star show would eventually expand into a galactic empire with a global reach on every continent.
Literally, thousands and thousands of people of all ages from all over the world – Antarctica to Sweden, Tasmania to Cape Cod, Sri Lanka to Madagascar, Beijing to Vancouver, Mozambique to Toronto, South Africa to Australia, Brazil to Singapore, New Zealand to Switzerland and throughout all of Europe, North America and the Pacific Islands – would attend our star shows, on a beach located in the remotest islands of the world in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Stars Above Hawaii is known as Hawaii’s Gateway to the Stars for Evening Entertainment. It is recognized world-wide as a professional star show program, owned and operated by a NASA Ambassador and astronomer. It provides charitable contributions to the local community with donations in cash, equipment and fund raising star show certificates. Stars Above Hawaii has been written about in many newsletters and magazines, as has been identified multiple times as one of Hawaii’s Most Charitable companies by Hawaii Business Magazine. Starlight Express Tours
After a decade of growth and increasing stability with Stars Above Hawaii, we created Starlight Express Tours in 2018. This could have been created much earlier, but we didn’t pay much attention to the opportunity at first. Over time as Stars Above Hawaii grew, we could see that more and more tour agencies and independents were selling our star show through various venues. It was a no brainer that we should be doing the same with other tour activities. As such, Starlight Express Tours was created, but with all going on in our lives, it did not get our full attention until late 2023.
At Starlight Express Tours you book your tour activity or attraction experience directly with the tour operator – whales, dolphins, boat cruises, surfing, sailing and much more – providing you with fast immediate direct access to make your reservation. No mark ups, no middle person.
Rising Star Gift Shop
The Rising Star Gift Shop was an inevitable outcome of the Stars Above Hawaii success. Our star explorers would periodically ask if we had any t-shirts or baseball caps to purchase as a souvenir. After a few years of dabbling with local vendors and buying these items, the merchandise popularity pushed us into opening a gift shop. We could not do it on a large scale or as a brick and mortar due to our limitations with time, money and needed efforts, so we saw the opportunity through online businesses where we opened up our shop, Rising Star Gift Shop, in 2021.
At the Rising Star Gift Shop you have access to clothing apparel, beach / yoga / sports towels, puzzles, artwork and home decor, hats, bags and more. Reach for the rising stars, Hawaiian style!
Looking Into The Future
Well, no one knows what the future holds, but one thing we can say for certain is that if it is what we experienced in the past and currently in the present, the future looks bright. We have been blessed with success and are grateful for all that we have experienced along this galactic journey into the unknown universe and beyond! Our latest creative amazement has been the development of our App, Rising Star Gift Shop. It allows users to access all three of our businesses – Stars Above Hawaii, Starlight Express Tours, and the Rising Star Gift Shop bringing Hawaii and the universe directly into the palm of your hand.
